Planfix App 0.68: Voice-to-Text and Subtasks on Mobile

October 27, 2025 4 min read 3

Voice-to-text in the Planfix mobile app is now live: with Planfix AI switched on, a voice message you record in a task is transcribed automatically, so an update you dictate on the move does not stay locked inside an audio file. Version 0.68 for iOS and Android also adds a Subtasks section, an Accept button and a reworked interface for files and phone numbers. This 53-second video runs through the changes, and below are the release notes with the place each one takes in the task card of the Planfix mobile app.

What you’ll learn: what is new in Planfix app 0.68

  • How voice messages recorded in the app are transcribed into text by Planfix AI.
  • Where the new Subtasks section sits in the task card and what it shows.
  • How the Accept button lets you take on a task from the card itself.
  • What changed in the interface for adding and editing phone numbers.
  • How viewing and adding files to a task got easier on a phone.

How to use voice-to-text and subtasks in the Planfix app, step by step

Step 1. Switch on speech recognition for voice messages

Transcription is an account setting rather than a phone setting, so it is turned on once in the web version. Go to Account management → Planfix AI → Speech recognition and activate the Automatically transcribe voice messages option. Speech recognition is one of the tools in Planfix AI; the setup and its limits are described in the help article on how to automatically transcribe voice messages.

Step 2. Record a voice message in a task and read it as text

Open a task in the app and switch to the Comments panel. Tap the Paperclip icon next to the comment field to attach an audio file to your comment. Planfix handles the .mp3, .ogg, .wav and .mp4 formats up to 100 MB, and the recognized text is inserted into the same comment, where all task participants can read it.

The text appears after a short delay: about ten seconds for a three-minute message and roughly a minute for a 1.5-hour interview. Quality depends on speech clarity, background noise and the language, and any word that came out wrong can be edited by hand.

Step 3. Open the Subtasks section in the task card

The task card is built from panels you move between by swiping left and right, among them Description, Comments, Checklist, Details and Documents. Version 0.68 adds a Subtasks section to that set, so the whole structure of the work is visible from a phone. A new child task can still be started from the card menu with Add a subtask.

In the web version the same list is the subtask panel of a task card, where subtasks can be filtered from the panel header, sorted, shown in extra columns and changed in bulk once at least one of them is selected.

Step 4. Accept a task straight from the card

Work that needs your reaction reaches you through the Planner, which in the app supports the Chronicle, List, Cards, Table, hourly calendar and task calendar by days. Release 0.68 puts an Accept button into task cards opened from there, so a task assigned to you can be accepted without leaving the card. On the web, the same stream of messages that need attention is the Planner Chronicle.

Step 5. Add files and phone numbers more quickly

The release reworks the interface for adding and editing phone numbers and improves how files are viewed and added. Files attached to a task live on the Documents panel of the card: tap the Paperclip icon there and choose the format you want to add.

A dictated update instead of a typed comment

The clearest use for speech recognition is the one the help center starts with: a manager on the move records a voice message in the mobile app, Planfix turns it into text, and the task keeps both the recording and a readable version of it. Nothing is lost because nobody had time to type.

It works the other way round as well. When a client sends a voice comment on a task through a messenger such as Telegram, the message is recognized and transcribed automatically, so the team can read and search it rather than replay the audio.

Who it’s for

  • Managers and field teams: dictate an update between visits and let Planfix AI turn it into text colleagues can read.
  • Assignees: accept a task with the new button in the card, without opening the web version.
  • Team leads: check the whole structure of a job in the Subtasks section of the parent task.
  • Sales and support: edit phone numbers in a reworked form and attach files while still with the client.
