Who this course is for
This is an advanced course, so it assumes you already find your way around Planfix and its account settings: administrators, support and sales leads, and owners of small teams who want incoming and outgoing mail to run through one system. You will also need administrator rights in your account, because virtual email addresses are created in Account management. If you would like the bigger picture before you start, the page on working with email in Planfix shows what the system can do with mail.
What you’ll learn
- What working with email in Planfix covers, from creating tasks by email to answering clients.
- How to create a virtual email address in your Planfix account.
- How to forward mail from a real email address to a virtual one.
- How to send messages from Planfix so that the recipient gets a regular email.
- What the finished setup looks like, with client correspondence handled in Planfix.
Course content: 5 lessons
- Working with email is our specialty. The opening lesson, on email as one of the strong points of Planfix.
- Creating a virtual email address. The first step of the setup: the address inside your account that will receive mail.
- Forwarding from a real email address to a virtual one. Pointing the mailbox your clients already write to at that virtual address.
- Sending Planfix messages as regular emails. The other direction: what you write in Planfix leaves as an ordinary email.
- End result. The finished setup, once all the pieces are in place.
How to take the course
The course runs on the Planfix Academy website, where all five lessons live. Open Setting up email with Planfix, sign in to Planfix Academy and go through the lessons in order, starting with the virtual address and ending with the finished setup. Your progress is saved, so you can stop after a lesson and pick up the next one later.
What to take next
If parts of this course feel too advanced, step back to the Basic Course, which covers tasks, comments, projects, contacts, planners and reports in more detail, and return to email afterwards. If you are the person bringing Planfix to a whole company, How do I begin implementing Planfix? is the natural course to take next. Don’t have an account yet? Sign up for Planfix and set up email in your own workspace as you follow the lessons.
