Widget
From Planfix
A widget is an element that visualizes a required metric directly in the Planner. Widgets help keep key indicators visible.
How to add a widget
- Open the Planner.
- In the menu for adding a list, select "Widget".
- Specify the widget type, data source, details and settings.
- Save.
The widget will appear on the Planner and update automatically (or manually, depending on the selected data source).
Widget types
| Type | What it shows | Best suited for |
|---|---|---|
| Pie chart | Distribution by category or plan completion percentage, with the chart shown as a full circle | When the dashboard is viewed on a large screen and visual clarity is important |
| Donut chart | Same as a pie chart, but with an open center | When the dashboard contains many blocks and a more compact chart is needed |
| Number | A value displayed in large text; for plan vs. actual data, it also shows the completion percentage | When the exact value matters, such as revenue, budget, or number of deals |
Data sources
Each widget can use one of two sources:
- Planfix — the widget calculates values itself based on tasks and contacts. The logic is configured the same way as a task filter. Suitable for anything already digitized within the system: overdue tasks, team workload, project statuses, etc.
- Enter manually — values are entered by a user. Convenient when the metric lives outside the system and pulling it via API is not cost-effective: expenses from different ad accounts, revenue from several cash registers, warehouse balances, etc.
Calculation
Calculation settings
If a value is calculated by the system, you can specify:
- What data to display — tasks, contacts, or projects.
- What to calculate — the number of entries or the sum of values in a selected field.
- Selection parameters — project, status, assignee, period, and any other available filter parameters.
Data entry permissions
For values entered manually, you can configure editing permissions:
- No one — only an administrator can change the values (default).
- All employees — any user can edit the values.
- Select — specify a particular employee or group.
Updating data
- The system recalculates values based on the latest data in Planfix. Refresh the page to see the updated figures on the dashboard.
