At the first step, you must:

  • select the group where the report will be located
  • name the report
  • select the object whose data will be used in the report

Which object should you choose?

  • Actions should be chosen when you need to make a general statistical report on the number of actions or display the text of comments added to tasks
  • Tasks should be chosen if you want to see detailed data on task fields or statistics by task
  • Data tags help display data in your report that your coworkers have entered in different tasks using data tags. If you choose this type of object, a field will appear where you will need to specify a list of data tags to use to create the report.

Your choice of an object affects which data you will be able to manipulate in the next steps for building the report. If you are having trouble deciding on an object, here are two ideas:

  • select the standard Planfix report that is most similar to yours and see what object is selected in it;
  • leave the default object and see what happens. If you aren't satisfied with the results, you can always go back and change the object.

In more complicated cases, you can write to Planfix tech support. We can advise on using this feature and help you figure things out.
