Reports: General information
From Planfix
At the first step, you must:
- Select the group where the report will be located.
- Name the report.
- Select the object whose data will be used in the report.
Which Object Should You Choose?
- Actions (Comments) Choose this if you need a statistical report on the number of actions or want to display the texts of comments added to tasks or contacts.
- Tasks Select this option to include detailed task data or task-related statistics in your report.
- Data tags This option allows you to include data entered into tasks or contacts by your team using data tags. After selecting this object type, you must specify which data tags to include in the report.
- Contacts/Companies This option is ideal for displaying or exporting data about contacts or companies.
- Directories Choose this option to display data such as stock balances. You can also add charts to make the report more visual.
- Projects Use this option if you need detailed project data or need to calculate efficiency ratios using formulas.
- Time off calendar Select this option to generate a summary report of all employees’ vacation days. This report can also be printed out for approval.
Your choice of an object affects which data you will be able to manipulate in the next steps for building the report. If you are having trouble deciding on an object, here are two ideas:
- select the standard Planfix report that is most similar to yours and see what object is selected in it;
- leave the default object and see what happens. If you aren't satisfied with the results, you can always go back and change the object.
In more complicated cases, you can write to Planfix Support team. We can advise on using this feature and help you figure things out.
