Planfix lets you track the status (sent and read) of notifications to external contacts. "Invisible pixels" are used to track when emails are opened (i.e. read). An invisible pixel is a unique link to a 1x1 pixel image file that is added to an email and lets you track the moment the recipient opens the email.
In some cases—such as when an email is sent to a ticket system that converts it to text form, or when the email server is configured a certain way—a link to the pixel is inserted into the text displayed in the email instead of the invisible one-pixel image. The setting Add a pixel to track email opens lets account administrators disable tracking:

- If an email has several recipients and the attribute Show recipients' email addresses in messages is enabled, the opening is tracked when at least one person opens the email.
