Linked fields

Linked fields are a feature of custom fields that links task fields or contact fields. These linked fields always work in pairs: When one field is filled in, the other is automatically updated.

The setting for linked fields can be activated in the settings of the custom fields:

Links can be established for the following field types:

How to link fields

Linking fields involves two steps:

• Add the required fields to objects or contact templates.
• Link the fields by editing their settings directly in objects or contact templates.

Possible linked field combinations

• Single field → Single field
• Single field → Multiple fields
• Multiple fields → Single field
• Multiple fields → Multiple fields

Examples of field links

For tasks:

• Truck — Cargo
• Lease agreement — Apartment

For contacts:

• Teacher — Student
• Branch Office — Head Office

Important

• A field can only be linked to one other field.
