In Planfix, a contact is any company or individual you work with. For convenience, contacts are categorized as either Companies (typically legal entities) or Contacts (usually individuals).
Contacts and companies are created using templates:
System templates
A system template is a default template available to all account users and cannot be deleted. System templates are marked accordingly in the template list:
Creating a contact template
You can create your custom contact template by going to Contacts — Templates — New contact template: Similarly, you can create a company template by going to Contacts — Templates — New company template.
You can turn a contact or company template into a system template anytime. To do this, select the desired template in the list and click on Make system template button.
Important
- You can add new fields (details) to any contact or company template. These fields will automatically be displayed in all Companies or Contacts created with this template.
- Planfix allows multiple templates for contacts and companies, each with its fields. For example, you can create a “Suppliers” company template with a field specifying product categories. This way, only relevant information is stored in each company card, and unnecessary fields are prevented from overlapping other types of company cards.
