How are task templates used?
When creating a task, select the desired template from the list:
All fields previously set in the template are loaded into the task-creation form.
In order for a task template to appear in the list for selection when creating a task, you need to configure its visibility.
A task created using a template will be linked to the template's format, not its contents. This means that:
- if there are changes made to the template that is associated with the form (such as adding a new field) these changes will automatically be displayed in all tasks created using the template;
- but if there are changes made to the contents of the template (such as adding an assignee) this won't be reflected in the tasks that have already been created using the template. However, new tasks created using the template after this point will have the additional assignee.
