With Planfix, you can manage the logic of task behavior in the Gantt chart. In particular, you can determine whether the successor tasks should change the start date if the predecessor task is completed early and how the successor tasks' start date changes if the predecessor task's due date changes. This behavior is configured in the system settings of the account:

There are two modes of operation for the Gantt chart:

  • Successor task dates set according to manually set dates - with this setting, the predecessor task in the Gantt chart is not postponed. If the predecessor task is completed sooner, It starts at the manually specified time
  • Successor task dates depend only on predecessor task dates - with this setting, the date of the successor task is calculated as the completion date of the predecessor task plus the delay. The manually set date is not taken into account. The successor task is always postponed to an earlier date after the predecessor task. It can happen both when the planned due date of the predecessor task is changed and when the predecessor task is completed before the planned date. To do this, the condition "Competing a task changes its planned due date to the actual completion date" must be selected in the "Task due date"(3) field. At the same time, the replacement only takes place if the planned due date is in the future.
