With the Modern view, the task comment feed is displayed like messages in a messenger:

Some information is hidden and can be viewed by hovering over a comment:

Comments that notify contacts are always shown with a colored background:

When adding a new comment contacts are also shown with a colored background:

You can copy the link to a comment by clicking the date/time it was added:
