The <a href=\"https:\/\/planfix.com\/features\/chronicle\/\">Chronicle in Planfix<\/a> gathers all of them into one feed of everything that needs your attention, and the rule for it is short: a good Chronicle is an empty Chronicle. Read the unread event count<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open the Chronicle; in the video it is the Chronicle in the default planner. Each task in the feed shows how many unread events it has, marked with a plus sign. The total number of unread events addressed to you is shown in the browser tab where Planfix is open, so you can see new updates while working in another tab. Both numbers go down as you process the feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2. Mark an event as read when it needs no answer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Often reading is all an event takes: you finished a task, and the event only says the assigner changed its status to completed. Hover over the event and click <strong>Read<\/strong>, the flag icon; the event leaves the feed and the counter is updated. Hovering also reveals the other <a href=\"https:\/\/planfix.com\/help\/How_the_Chronicle_is_used\">quick actions on a Chronicle event<\/a>, such as <strong>Remind<\/strong>, <strong>Timeframe<\/strong> and <strong>Complete<\/strong>, so many events never require the task card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3. Postpone an event with a reminder<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a task needs you but not at this moment, set yourself a <a href=\"https:\/\/planfix.com\/features\/reminders\/\">reminder in Planfix<\/a> instead of leaving the event unread. Hover over the task and select <strong>Remind<\/strong>; in the video the reminder is set for 15 minutes later, and the system sends the notification when the time is up. <a href=\"https:\/\/planfix.com\/help\/Adding_reminders_in_the_Chronicle\">Adding a reminder from the Chronicle<\/a> removes the unread event now and brings the task back at the time you chose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4. Open the task and reply in the comment feed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some events need action in the task itself. Click the event, and the task loads next to the feed with its comment history, where you can catch up and add a comment. Your colleague receives it in their own Chronicle: the task appears in their feed, and they continue the work from there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 5. Mark all events in a task as read at once<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An event can also be cleared by clicking the background of the comment. When one task has collected several unread messages, use the mark-all-as-read flag for that task instead of clicking them one by one: all of its events are marked together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 6. Accept a new task<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last event in the video is a task assigned to you and not accepted yet. With the standard Planfix settings, such a task has the status <strong>New<\/strong> and shows <strong>Accept<\/strong> and <strong>Decline<\/strong> buttons; once you accept it, the status changes to <strong>In progress<\/strong>. In the video, the task also asks the assignee to read the accompanying document and confirm they are familiar with the instructions \u2014 work the narrator cannot do right away, so the task stays in the feed until they get back to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An event you can\u2019t handle right now<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The video treats the Chronicle like an email inbox: a task you are not ready to work on can simply stay in the feed until you come back and take the necessary action. Nothing disappears on its own, so the method holds \u2014 every event is read, answered or deliberately postponed. Email and Telegram are available in Planfix too, but the video recommends the Chronicle as the most versatile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who it\u2019s for<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>New Planfix users:<\/strong> one feed to learn instead of several, with three answers to every event \u2014 read, remind or reply.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assignees with parallel tasks:<\/strong> the per-task count shows which task is waiting, and the mark-all-as-read flag clears a noisy discussion at once.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assigners and team leads:<\/strong> a comment left in the task reaches the assignee\u2019s Chronicle, so requests are not lost between chats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Anyone working across browser tabs:<\/strong> the total count in the tab tells you whether something new has arrived.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FAQ<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div data-schema-only=\"false\" class=\"wp-block-aioseo-faq\" id=\"aioseo-where-does-planfix-show-the-number-of-unread-events\"><h3 class=\"aioseo-faq-block-question\"><strong>Where does Planfix show the number of unread events?<\/strong><\/h3><div class=\"aioseo-faq-block-answer\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In two places: the total count sits in the browser tab where Planfix is open, and the count for each task is shown in the Chronicle.
